Music and Silence are forms of touch – sensitivity in motion. When we are in a shared moment of deep listening, we can travel beyond the bounds of mind into expansive regions of consciousness where realities become flexible, connection undeniable… possibilities endless.
We have come together as a collective, with a shared intention to experience the more-than-human world of possibilities through deep listening, entering the silence, to find shared meaning through exploration and connection.
From this place new things can become possible, new understandings can arrive, peacefulness can settle in, perhaps needs met. In this process there is no ‘you’ or ‘me’, just us.
This means that we do not plan what we are going to play, instead we listen to what is in the room. We feel our listening to connect with the space, and you. There is more than a body, individuals in seats, there is a wholeness that yearns to be touched, invited, sensed – this sensitivity can teach us how to be humble, how to listen, how to love.

Listening to this ensemble is like stepping into another world. The instrumentation, (piano, voice, hang drum, flutes, clarinets, oud, tarhu, mandocello, dumbek, and percussion) weave a journey through soundscapes that transport you to distant lands, while grounding you deeply within yourself. Each improvisation is an immersive experience, full of mystery and wonder. Clare’s voice, with its raw authenticity and the soul of the British Isles, cuts through the music with a power that pierces the heart.
It’s a rare combination of freedom and intimacy, where every note feels alive and infused with spirit.

I asked for music created in the moment, an improvisational and ancient soundscape culled from the vast silence of Grace Cathedral at night – something timeless, wordless, innately reverential, yet beautiful. Then, as we beamed 25 giant lasers into Grace Cathedral’s Rose Window and the Cathedral filled with people, the music began. And so started the deep listening. For more than three hours, the musicians tuned into themselves, each other, and the space, and they played nonstop. Hundreds of people sat in rapt silence, their faces uplifted toward the light, their souls dancing with the music – the music dancing with their souls. A divine sensibility filled the Cathedral, unforgettable, unrepeatable, indescribable. There was a collective awareness that we were all blessed to be present, to be alive and together in this very moment.

On a midsummer night a row of lasers mounted on the Fairmont Hotel directed light through our cathedral’s rose window. Curious crowds came up the main steps wondering what this spectacle would look like from inside. As we entered the doors we were greeted by the most beautiful music. In fact although the light drew us in, it was the sound that became so transformative for us. The music took us to a new dimension of beauty and possibility. This music opens a door into the beauty of God.
