Clare Hedin, a musician, performs for the walk of the labyrinth. The Labyrinth itself came to by the work of Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress. From 1991 to 2007, the labyrinth was made of tapestry. In 2007, Margaret and Will Hearst donated funds to replace the tapestry with limestone. March 11th 2016. Julio Marcial

This Friday, March 11th, I am doing the music for Grace Cathedral’s Labyrinth Walk. It is a free event, in a beautiful sanctified setting, and runs from 6-8pm. You can walk in any time. I sing with my shruti and with their piano. The musical, emotional, echoes are stunning. We are billing it as an ‘interactive’ meditation time as there are gorgeous hand bells that sit at certain points in the Labyrinth for you to pick up and generate a single sound as you glide through the contemplation spiral. I am affected – and moved – by your sound, to respond in sympathy with it. It is a movement toward peace, the communion of spirits in soul space. I hope to see you there. Give yourself the gift of some special time to recuperate from your busy life.
